ASSISTANT BUYER

We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our purchasing department and work closely with the current Buyer to deliver administrative support.

Working with and supporting the Senior Buyers, you will be purchasing products from both the UK and the Far East and will be assisting with the following:

  • Processing of orders
  • Liaising with suppliers daily to ensure lead times are accurate
  • Researching competitive pricing across product lines
  • Flagging up any invoice or quality discrepancies with relevant departments and suppliers
  • Chasing samples and follow up of samples to build on product ranges
  • Communicating with the sales team for customer order fulfilment
  • Providing the warehouse with accurate information and paperwork relating to Goods-in deliveries.

 

This is a busy and varied role where timing is crucial and the nature of the job means multi-tasking, communication and accuracy of information can sometimes prove to be a challenge. You should therefore have strong planning & organisational skills, the ability to easily interact and build relationships with suppliers, as well as knowledge of appropriate IT systems. Good Excel skills are essential.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work in a successful and dynamic company with prospects of earning more responsibility as the role progresses. Previous experience in purchasing is not essential. However some experience in the business environment or knowledge of the industry from a different role would be a distinct advantage.
