iPad 2 reported to be "flying off shelves"

Opertators and retailers have reported a strong uptake of the iPad 2 since it launched in the UK on March 25. Phones 4U said it sold out of devices before the end of the launch weekend.

Speaking to Mobile News, Phones 4U trading director Scott Hooton said: "We knew Apple's new tablet device was going to fly of the shelves. The launch weekend more than met our expectations, with the stock running out very quickly." Hooton said new stock was ordered and the device was available again from April 11.

New premises fully operational

After a year of investment into setting up the new building, work has come to an end and we are fully settled and operational in our new home. The move to the new premises was necessary not only to house our ever growing product range, but also to accommodate the increased staff numbers.

The 26,000 sq ft premises comprise of brand new offices and purpose built warehouse all under one roof to enable us to meet the demands of our growing business. We remain committed to our customers and the strategy is to now ensure we are as efficient as possible with everything finally in place with the new set-up.
